Kerfield Arms Pub
Eco-Airvent was contacted by the contractor and acoustician following complaints from nearby residents regarding noise from the air conditioning condenser units recently installed on the rear wall of the Kerfield Arms pub.
A noise impact assessment established that the existing background noise levels in the area were already very low, measuring below 30 dB. As the installation was subject to a retrospective planning application, replacing the existing units with quieter models was not a viable option. It was therefore recommended that acoustic enclosures be installed around the condenser units to reduce noise emissions.
Eco-Airvent attended site to survey the existing condenser units and, following a review of the manufacturers’ noise and airflow data, designed a bespoke set of wall-mounted acoustic enclosures. The enclosures were specifically engineered to provide sufficient acoustic insertion loss to reduce noise emissions from each unit to below the levels recommended in the noise impact assessment, while maintaining the airflow required for efficient operation.
Our acoustic enclosures are available in a range of colours, allowing them to be selected to complement the surrounding building and meet the aesthetic requirements of the installation.
