The NICI, Lymington
The Nici Group acquired Elmer’s Court Hotel in early 2025 and embarked on a comprehensive refurbishment programme, which included installing new kitchens to serve the hotel’s new restaurants.
Eco-Airvent was appointed to design, manufacture and install the kitchen canopies and extraction systems for the main kitchen. As with any refurbishment project, space was at a premium, particularly when accommodating a larger kitchen within the existing footprint.
Working from the kitchen equipment layout provided, we designed a wall-mounted canopy to cover the entire cooking range, in accordance with DW/172. The canopy incorporated an integrated fresh air supply plenum along its front edge to provide effective ventilation.
Both the supply and extract fans, together with the associated ductwork, were located within the roof void above the kitchen, with air discharged externally via roof cowls. Both fan systems were also fitted with gas proving systems to ensure compliance with current regulations.
Finally, we installed stainless steel wall cladding to the rear walls along the cooking line, providing a durable, hygienic, and easy-to-clean finish.
